School is Hard

If you hadn’t noticed, I’ve been missing from this blog for over a month. I never meant to abandon it, it just somehow slipped through the cracks. First, let me explain why. Then, let me ask for some advice.

I’m currently attending University (I won’t say which) in a Bachelor of Communications program. For those of you who don’t know what that is, it’s something like Public Relations combined with advertising, combined with journalism. It’s complicated and I’m sure you can Google it if you’re interested. In any case, it involves a lot of writing (which I really do love).

During the summer, the blog was something I enjoyed doing for fun since I didn’t get to write very much at either of my jobs. Now, though, I read and write (even it if is academic) all day every day of the week for school. So, when I want to have some free time in the evening or on the weekends, I would prefer to spend it going outside, or watching TV or sleeping (haha).

Not only has this dilemma interfered with my blog writing, it’s hindered me from creative writing as well. I just can’t bring myself to type another word at the end of the day! So I need to ask for your help. Does anyone out there have a similar issue? If so how do you deal with it? And even if you haven’t experienced the same thing, how do you suggest I remedy this problem? Because I really want to keep writing!

  1. I can appreciate your issue with finding the desire to write creatively when you spend so much of your day busy with life and school. Perhaps a good way to try and alleviate some of that would be to do one writing prompt a day. Perhaps follow different writing blogs which post prompts or you could also check out Reddit’s Writing Prompt subreddit. I know some people are intimidated by the word Reddit, but the Writing Prompt subreddit has a lot of fun and interesting prompts – they are definitely not boring prompts.

    Best of luck!
